Call Me Mrs. Chan 叫我陳太

Film Synopsis

No one knows the slope of a refuse chute, the angle a worker bends to pick up a garbage bag. No one heard the noise from the refuse room, is it the glass broken or the worker fallen? 10 years of collecting the waste, being disrespected, having a sore waist and an aching back. It is a degrading job, but I will still go on.

無人留意垃圾槽的傾斜管道， 工人彎腰拾起垃圾袋的角度， 無人聽見垃圾房的巨響回音， 是玻璃爆開，還是工人墜下的聲音。 十年的倒樓，沒有受到人尊重，卻帶來腰酸背痛。倒樓是下賤工夫，但我還是會做下去。

A Note from the Director

Everyone makes garbage, so we are consumers. Waste collectors earned the lowest wages with blood and sweat. Poor environment, handmade tools, no leaves, repetitive Strain Injury, work accidents, most of them choke with silent fury. In fact we can do some very simple things, respect others like you want to be respected.

每個人都會丟垃圾，我們都是用家、消費者。清潔倒樓賺的是最低的血汗工資，環境惡劣、無工具、無假放、長期勞損、工傷意外，很多時候都是敢怒不敢言。有時會在走廊碰見工人在倒垃圾，大概不會留意他們的工作，但其實我們可以做一些很簡單的事，例如包好界手玻璃，將垃圾放到垃圾房或者打一下招呼，尊重別人尊種自己。

Chan Hau Chun
Chan Hau Chun, graduated from the City University of Hong Kong’s School of Creative Media, is a cinematographer and independent filmmaker.

陳巧真，畢業於香港城市大學創意媒體學院, 現為攝影師及獨立電影工作者。
