Film Synopsis
Yeung Tong Lung paints everyday scenes and human experiences in Hong Kong with a brush, while the documentary production team uses visual equipment to shape the daily life of the artist Yeung Tong Lung. The seemingly casual and distant yet close visual distances may perhaps be closer to the thoughts and states of both parties in their creations.
Capturing images over the past three years, the production team and Yeung Tong Lung are getting closer, but it doesn't mean knowing more about Yeung Tong Lung. What is presented is the fleeting fate between the photographer and the subject in the process of creation.
楊東龍以畫筆繪畫香港日常風景和人誌，而紀錄片創作團隊亦步亦趨地以影像器材形塑日常的畫家楊東龍，看似漫不經心、且遠且近的影像距離，或許更接近雙方創作中的思考和狀態。
拍攝近三年多的捕捉影像，創作團隊和東龍是越走越近，卻不等於知道楊東龍更多，呈現的是拍攝和被拍攝者在創作中短暫的緣份
About the Director
陳上城是一位香港導演，香港中文大學藝術文學碩士。《只是影畫》為他的首部紀錄長片，在威尼托國際電影節上獲得最佳實驗電影獎，並在印度獨立電影節獲得最佳紀錄片獎。該片還入選了瑞典國際電影節展映。由陳上城編劇和執導的短片《安琪兒》（2015）曾贏得香港鮮浪潮國際短片節的最佳創意獎。在2015年至2018年間，他還執導香港電台熱門劇集《獅子山下》（1972年至今）的其中三集
Dunet Chan Sheung Shing is a Hong Kong-based filmmaker who graduated with an MA in Fine Arts from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Still Life is his first feature film. The documentary was awarded the Best Experimental Film prize at the Veneto International Film Festival and received the Best Documentary award at the Indian Independent Film Festival. The film was additionally selected for screening at the Swedish International Film Festival. Chan’s script and direction of the short film Angela (2015) won the Best Creativity Award at the Fresh Wave International Short Film Festival. From 2015 to 2018, he directed three episodes of the popular television series Below the Lion Rock (1972–ongoing) for Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK).
