Experience at MALCS
The programme allows me to look at the world from a variety of angles. As a result of being exposed to these various lenses, I am able to see and experience more. For my Capstone Experience, I worked on a creative project about memory, and the conversations I had with my teachers and peers helped me better understand how I and others process and articulate memories. Because it enables me to consider my own (unconscious) ways of remembering (and forgetting), this project goes beyond simple academic work.
I also gain practical skills from studying comparative literature that I may use in the workplace. This is due to the fact that the coursework enhanced my ability to organise and express complex and abstract concepts, which is an essential skill to have, particularly when working in the cultural field.
