Biography

Charlie has solid experience in media production industry. His short film CELL won best Creativty Award at eh 4th Freshwave International Short Film Festival in Hong Kong.

He received his MA in Literary and Cultural Studies from Department of Comparative Literature, HKU and MFA in Filmmaking from Beijing Film Academy. He also finished the Producing course in Busan Asian Film School.

He co-produced documentary shorts THE WORLD OF MINDFULNESS in 2021. It was officially selected in Sheffield Doc/Fest, DMZ Documentary Film Festival, Taipei Golden Horse International Film Festival and others.

Experience at MALCS

As a filmmaker, I have to say that the study in Literacy and Cultural Studies has widened my insight into storytelling through film. It strengthened my ability in contextual reading which inspired me not only to tell an interesting story but to tell a story of our time. After graduation, I am in a postiion of multi-identity, or what people called "slasher". I am a script writer, film producer, a college lecturer and an enterpriser. All those different identities can be concluded as "storyteller".
