Biography

I have always been captivated by the world of literature, cinema, and the arts. This passion led me to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Comparative Literature and Fine Arts (now known as Art History) at HKU before I started in MALCS. Since then, I've delved into various roles within the film industry—PR, marketing, producing, and programming—each allowing me to connect with diverse talents and I am very fortunate to land on foresighted projects. These experiences have taken me around the globe, offering a unique perspective on the evolving landscape of cinema and culture. Deeply inspired by Hong Kong’s vibrant creative energy, I am committed to sharing its artistic vision with the world, continuously seeking new opportunities to bring these exciting stories to life on an international stage.

Current Work

While proving computer skills may be straightforward, demonstrating the depth of one's thinking is far more challenging. This programme has not only enhanced my academic credentials but also enriched my language, research, and analytical abilities in practical, impactful ways. On one hand, the interdisciplinary approach and contemporary lens of Comparative Literature have been crucial in shaping my ability to interpret film and visual work with greater depth. On the other, it has equipped me with the confidence to take on diverse side gigs alongside my film career, including academic research, teaching, and writing. These experiences have broadened my cultural sensitivity, while simultaneously opening up more possibilities for growth in my career and empowered me to navigate a multifaceted professional landscape.

For me, studying at MALCS was like swimming in the sea of literature and cinema.

Experience at MALCS

With its rich diversity and access to a vast array of cultural topics, the MALCS programme allowed me to immerse myself in my specific interests in visual culture, cinema, and gender studies. It provided an invaluable space to engage with mature, thought-provoking insights from peers hailing from diverse industries and backgrounds, as well as lecturers whose expertise is rare in typical workplace settings. Situated in the culturally nuanced environment of Hong Kong, the programme encouraged students to think critically about the complexities of the real world, challenging one to see and understand culture in new and provocative ways.
