A special topic will be introduced each time the course is offered, depending on the instructor. The topic will be announced prior to registration; students can also query the dept. office ahead of time. \u00a0Recent topics \u00a0include cosmopolitanism , ancient texts and\/or modern theories, \u00a0transmediality, new directions in critical theory, and so on. The class will be conducted in a seminar mode requiring students\u2019 active participation.
