In order to\u00a0MAJOR<\/strong> in Comparative Literature, students need to fulfill the following requirements:<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. not fewer than one (6 credits) of the following first year Comparative Literature courses, and obtain a grade C or above: CLIT1001 or CLIT1008 or CLIT1009 or CLIT1010;<\/li>\n
    2. 12 credits of introductory courses from any Arts programmes, which may include additional credits in 1000-level Comparative Literature courses; and<\/li>\n
    3. not fewer than 54 credits of 2000- and 3000-level Comparative Literature courses, which must include<\/em><\/strong> (i) not fewer than one (6 credits) foundational course (CLIT2001, CLIT2025, CLIT2094, CLIT2095 and CLIT2109) preferably in the second year, and (ii) not fewer than one (6 credits) capstone experience course.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Choice of courses is subject to the approval of the department.\u00a0 Priority of entry into 2000- and 3000-level courses will be given to Comparative Literature majors and minors. Students must make sure that their choices conform to any prerequisites set down by the department. Some of the capstone courses, for example research and internship courses, are offered to Comparative Literature majors only.<\/p>\n

      Students are encouraged (but not required) \u00a0to complete one of the courses listed under the \u201cAI in the major\u201d category of this major within the required 72 credits.<\/p>\n

      A\u00a0MINOR<\/strong>\u00a0in Comparative Literature shall consist of CLIT1001 or\u00a0CLIT1008: Ways of Reading: Film, Literature, and Culture\u00a0or\u00a0CLIT1009: Introduction to Postcolonialism and Culture\u00a0or\u00a0CLIT1010: Ways of Thinking about Culture and Society; and not fewer than 30 credit units of 2000- and 3000-level courses.<\/p>\n

      To fulfill the credit requirements of the major\/minor in Comparative Literature, students can also take the following courses in other programmes:<\/p>\n
