She is the author of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.upress.umn.edu\/9781517914813\/asians-on-demand\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Asians on Demand: Mediating Race in Video Art and Activism<\/em><\/a> (University of Minnesota Press, 2023). Her writing has also appeared in <em><a href=\"https:\/\/read.dukeupress.edu\/camera-obscura\/article-abstract\/34\/2\/41\/140354\/Sentimental-Activism-as-Queer-Feminist-Documentary?redirectedFrom=fulltext\" target=\"_blank\">Camera Obscura<\/a><\/em>, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/journals.sagepub.com\/doi\/10.1177\/15274764241242398\" target=\"_blank\">Television &#038; New Media<\/a><\/em>, and <em><a href=\"https:\/\/necsus-ejms.org\/a-genealogy-of-migrant-organising-by-germanys-asiatische-deutsche-presencing-the-asian-film-festival-berlin\/\" target=\"_blank\">NECSUS<\/a><\/em>, among others. Alongside her scholarly work, she is active in film curation and community arts and culture organizing.<br \/>\nHeberer joins HKU from New York University, where she taught in the Department of Cinema Studies. Prior to that, she was a Mellon postdoctoral fellow in Global Studies and Languages at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She earned her MA at the Free University of Berlin.
