She is the author of <em>In the Mood for Texture: The Revival of Bangkok as a Chinese City<\/em> (Duke University Press, 2026), <em>Teardrops of Time: Buddhist Aesthetics in the Poetry of Angkarn Kallayanapong<\/em> (SUNY Press, 2020), and <em>Ghostly Desires: Queer Sexuality and Vernacular Buddhism in Contemporary Thai Cinema<\/em> (Duke University Press, 2016). In 2024\u20132025 she held a fellowship to study digital media in Asia at the K\u00e4te Hamburger Research Centre \u201cglobal dis:connect\u201d in Munich. Fuhrmann serves in the curatorial team of the Asian Film Festival Berlin and on the editorial collective of <em>positions: asia critique<\/em>.
