ACADEMIC AND RESEARCH BIO<\/strong>
\nProfessor Nicole Huang received her PhD in East Asian Languages and Cultures from the University of California, Los Angeles, and taught at the University of Wisconsin, Madison for seventeen years before joining the University of Hong Kong in 2017. She is the author of Women, War, Domesticity: Shanghai Literature and Popular Culture of the 1940s<\/em> (Leiden, 2005) and Hong Kong Connections: Eileen Chang and Worldmaking<\/em> (Hong Kong, 2022), and the co-editor of Written on Water<\/em> (a collection of essays by Eileen Chang, New York, 2023). Her recent work engages visual and auditory culture of contemporary China, with a forthcoming monograph on a culture of listening in late-Mao China. She is currently working on a book project that situates the writer Eileen Chang on a relational map of world literature.<\/p>\n
